ETS (Electric Train Systems) were one of the first firms to revive the great traditions of 20th century European toy making. The company was founded in the early 1990s in the Czech Republic under the inspirational leadership of Gustav Taus. The company concentrated on producing rugged, all-metal modern European O gauge tinplate-style model trains and trams in the slightly smaller scale of 1:45. Sadly, Gustav passed away in April, 2015 but left a tremendous legacy as over the years ETS has produced a vast array of continental models but in more recent times has also manufactured an increasing number of 1:43 O gauge British locomotives. The company has also become a well-known contract manufacturer for household O gauge brand names such as ACE Trains and previously for Corgi/Hornby owned Bassett-Lowke. Many of ACE’s smaller locomotives are manufactured by ETS.
